Scheduled for January 8, 2026, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., the service will take place at The Carter Center’s Cecil B. Day Chapel in Atlanta. The interfaith gathering is designed to create space for prayer, dialogue, and shared commitment to civility during a time of continued social and political division.

The service is expected to feature a diverse group of faith and youth leaders, including Rev. Dr. Gary Mason, an internationally recognized peacebuilder from Northern Ireland, who will offer reflections on reconciliation and the role of faith in fostering peace. Through prayer and spoken reflections, the event aims to encourage understanding, empathy, and respectful engagement across differences.

The Georgia DRN, in partnership with The Carter Center, organizes the annual Service of Prayer as part of its broader mission to strengthen democratic resilience and promote peaceful civic life throughout the state.
