1 dead, at least 2 in critical condition after wrong-way crash involving CTA bus

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Police say one person was killed and at least two people are in critical condition after a wrong-way crash on DuSable Lake Shore Drive.

Chicago police said just before 6 a.m. a man was driving a Dodge Journey southbound in the northbound lanes of DuSable Lake Shore Drive when it hit a CTA bus near 44th Street.

The Chicago Fire department said the car caught on fire. The driver and a female passenger were taken to the hospital in critical condition while another female passenger was pronounced dead at U Chicago Medical Center, according to police.

All are adults. The bus driver and 12 passengers on the Number 6 Jackson Park Express were taken to hospitals.
