(670 The Score) The Cubs have activated infielder Nico Hoerner from the injured list, they announced Friday.

Hoerner had been out since suffering a forearm strain in a collision with center fielder Ian Happ in a loss to the Reds on May 2. Hoerner is hitting .389 with a 1.056 OPS in 11 games this season.

As expected, the Cubs also activated right-hander Jake Arrieta from the injured list after he dealt with a cut on his thumb. Arrieta (3-3, 4.31 ERA) will start for the Cubs at the Detroit Tigers on Friday evening.

Chicago optioned reliever Jason Adam and outfielder Nick Martini to Triple-A in a pair of corresponding moves.
