The bottom floor of the building housed Buffalo Print Out, and the top-two floors held apartments. Officials say five people lived in the apartments, and three of them were taken to the hospital.

"The one that was rescued from the second floor is suffering from burns to his hands and his feet, and the other two are suffering from smoke inhalation," said Buffalo Fire Commissioner William Renaldo.

The conditions of these three individuals is not presently known.

One of the residents was accounted for and safe, but there is still concern regarding the whereabouts of another individual - a male who reportedly lived on the third floor of the building. Renaldo says they aren't sure whether the man was even home at the time of the fire, but attempts to contact him have been unsuccessful thus far.

"Presently, we have some heavy equipment at the scene going through the debris and the rubble," said Renaldo. "Hopefully it's not the case, but we're looking for him at the scene."
