Calling all free agents, the Buffalo Bills are looking for you.
No, not defensive linemen or wide receivers, that will come in a few weeks.
Rather, the Bills are looking to beef up its game day experience team by at least 25% as it has scheduled a Feb. 25 job fair to find additional workers to those already employed by the NFL franchise.
"We want people who are go-getters, have a positive attitude and a lot of energy," said Zach Rutkowski, Bills' senior director of guest experience.
Among the positions: ticket greeters, ushers, ADA services specialists, elevator operators and premium hospitality team members.
Rutkowski said the Bills already have a pool for more than 500 people who were involved with the game day experience - at varying levels - this past season.
Because of the new stadium, at least 125 more workers are needed, Rutkowski said.
"We are looking for people who will greet fans with a big smile on their face, willing to 'high five' and say 'Go Bills'," Rutkowski said.
Typically, the Bills begin looking for new guest services and experience workers in late spring and early summer, with training taking place later in the summer.
This year, because of the new stadium, hiring is starting earlier as is training.
"Everyone is a rookie this year," Rutkowski said.
On most years, the Bills retain more than 85% of its game day workforce, but this year, with the opening of new Highmark Stadium, its retention rate is nearly 96%.
Training takes between 12 hours and 15 hours within the stadium. More sessions may be necessary this year because of the new stadium.
"We want everyone to be ready," Rutkowski said.
The job fair will run for noon to 7 p.m. at old Highmark Stadium. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a resume.
Pay, depending on the position, begins at $18 per hour.
