Orchard Park, N.Y. (WBEN) - The "King of Country" will be coming to Western New York this coming summer.
George Strait, Chris Stapleton and Parker McCollum have been announced to perform at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park on June 14.
Tickets will go on sale Friday, Feb. 21 at 10 a.m. at GeorgeStrait.com. Fans can register for presale access at georgestrait.com/shows. A Highmark Stadium presale will held Thursday, Feb. 20 starting at 1 p.m.
"George Strait is called the 'King of Country' music, because you can't get bigger than him," said Liz Mantel from Buffalo’s Real Country 107.7 The Wolf. "He can sell out any stadium... so the fact that he's coming to Western New York is huge. And also he's bringing Chris Stapleton, who could also sell out Highmark Stadium."
It's a big show, made even bigger because of its timing.
With the new Highmark Stadium set to open in 2026, could this be the last concert at the current stadium?
"To have someone like "King George" be the last performance ever would actually be fitting," Mantel said. "A historic stadium and a historic guy."
