The City of Buffalo announced Sunday the Buffalo Skyway will be closed beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, until further notice, in advance of anticipated severe weather and high wind gusts.

The closure is being implemented due to forecasted hazardous conditions, including strong winds and snow, which are expected to significantly impact driving conditions and public safety.

City officials are coordinating with emergency management, public safety agencies, and the New York State Department of Transportation to monitor conditions and ensure the safety of motorists.

Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes, allow extra travel time, and use caution when traveling during severe weather conditions. Updates regarding the Skyway closure will be provided.
