Fire in Williamsville causes more than $1 million in damages

No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze

Williamsville, N.Y. (WBEN) - Firefighters battled a blaze Monday afternoon on Greiner Road in Williamsville that resulted in more than $1 million worth of damage.

Amherst Fire Control received multiple calls reporting heavy smoke in the area sometime after the fire began at around 3:38 p.m. About a half hour later, crews responding to the fire reported a three-story residential structure with heavy fire on one side of the home.

The fire was reported to be under control just before 5:40 p.m. No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze.

The estimated damages to the home totals around $1.15 million.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Among the fire companies assisting crews in East Amherst included Clarence, Getzville, Harris Hill, Main-Transit, Millgrove, Newstead, North Amherst, Rapids, Swormville, Williamsville and Wolcottsville.
