Buffalo, NY (WBEN) A Hamburg man will spend the next 25 years to life in prison after being convicted of raping a woman in his apartment.
66 year old Scott Sarcina was convicted of forcibly engaging the woman in sex back in 2022.
When the victim was able to later leave Saracena’s apartment, she reported the crime to police and underwent a rape kit.
The two did know each other In late June 2025, a jury found Saracina guilty of first degree rape. He was previously acquitted of the two additional counts of the indictment following a jury trial in September 2024.
As part of the sentencing proceeding, a final order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim, which remains in effect until 2072.
