BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN)......A pair of buildings that date back to 1886 are being eyed as a residential-based conversion.

Developer and investor Bill Bresser wants to renovate buildings at 1273 Niagara Street and 1277 Niagara Street into a development with 14 total apartments and street-level commercial space.

No tenants have been signed for the commercial space.

The projects are a continuation of Bresser's focus on Niagara Street as his development sweet spot. Bresser has been investing and developing along Niagara Street since 1998.

According to documents filed with the Erie County Industrial Development Agency, Bresser will bring 9 apartments to the 1273 Niagara Street building and five apartments to the 1277 Niagara Street building.

The ECIDA is considering a series of tax breaks for the project that are necessary for Bresser to pencil out his project.

Both buildings are considered architecturally and historically significant to Buffalo's Upper Black Rock historic district.

Pending various Buffalo approvals, the renovation work could begin this summer.
