Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - In a statement released Friday and provided to WBEN, the Nardin Academy Board of Trustees said a third party assessment of outgoing President Sanrda Betters showed no 'wrongdoing or misconduct' on her part.
"We are grateful for Sandra's hard work, professionalism, and her unwavering support of the mission of Nardin and the Daughters of the Heart of Mary," the statement reads. "As a Board, we have begun to review the assessment report and we look forward to initiating the school's "Plan for Healing and Growth." In addition, we will schedule community forums where other findings of the assessment will be shared. The Board will listen to concerns well as opportunities, and we will engage the community in our path forward."
The much anticipated report comes just days after the board met and agreed upon the resignation of Betters effective June 30 and the resignation of 9 board members who led the effort to oust Betters.
No details on how the assessment was conducted were provided.
While few details of the issues that led to the crisis within Nardin Academy have been made fully public, it is frequently repeated that Betters' leadership was not inline with the culture within the school community and led to the departure of faculty and declining enrollment.
In a Facebook post Friday, the group 'Nardin Together' Friday referred to the aftermath of the week's developments as an 'all out battle' and also referenced the firing of Nardin's CFO.
