Parker: Lack of clouds, lack of wind stand out during exceptional weather run

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) Western New York continues to enjoy exceptional weather into the first week of October.

Above average temperatures and very dry conditions.

But two things stand out to Meteorologist Andy Parker.

"The lack of any wind and lack of any clouds. The fact that it's been this sunny and this calm. Those are the two things that are most unusual," he said.

Parker said Western New York has had nice Septembers before, when it comes to temperature. But when you're talking sunshine with winds less than 10mph, that is the exceptional part.

"It's kind of ironic that the Buffalo Bills are going with a "white-out" theme Sunday night, when in reality you could be watching the game from the pool, if you still have it open" added Parker.

We hate to be party poopers. But the end is in sight for this stretch of weather.

"Tuesday morning, it will be raining."  Parker expects a solid rain, not just a sprinkle here or there.

"After that, the numbers drop. We're going to go through the 80's and fall through the 70's, and then 60's and 50's on Wednesday and Thursday."

Parker thinks we will spend more time in the 50's and 60's in the middle of October.
