Lockport, N.Y. (WBEN) - The man who has already confessed to killing two women in Buffalo, as well as his grandmother, has pleaded guilty to another murder, this time in Niagara County.

Richard Fox pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in connection with the death of 32-year-old Crystal Curthoys, formerly of Lockport, in January 2023 in Niagara Falls.

Curthoys’ remains were found by Niagara Falls police in a house formerly occupied by Fox. It is believed that Curthoys was also living at that address for a time before her murder.

Earlier this year, Fox admitted to killing his own grandmother in the Town of Brant in the 1970s. Police say because of statute of limitations and the fact Fox was a juvenile at the time, Fox won't be charged.

Fox is serving 40 years-to-life for the murders of Marquita Mull and Cassandra Watson in Buffalo.

"Although this defendant is already serving a life sentence, it was important to us to hold him accountable for this murder," said Niagara County District Attorney Brian Seaman in a statement on Thursday. "Crystal was not just a number to be added to this defendant’s tally sheet. She was a person with a family and a life. What she would have made of the life before her will now never be known. We hope that holding this defendant accountable for her killing brings some small amount of consolation to Crystal’s family."

Fox faces as much as 25 years-to-life when he returns to court to be sentenced by County Court Judge John Ottaviano. That sentence can be added to the time he is already serving.
