West Seneca, N.Y. (WBEN) - Everything is different in 2020, including the T-Mobile SPCA RadioThon which operated in a 'bubble' inside the expansive SPCA facility on Harlem Road in West Seneca. The annual RadioThon, like so many events, operated with minimal staff and public interaction as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
What wasn't different this year was the generosity of Buffalo and Western New York as nearly $70,000 was raised during the twelve hour event aired on NewsRadio 930 WBEN and Star 102.5.
As different as 2020 has been, the need for the SPCA Serving Erie County never stopped. Countless animals were rescued from dangerous situations. SPCA officers continued to investigate animal cruelty. Families found comfort and companionship through pet adoptions.

Owner reunited with cat after moving to North Carolina" image="/media-library/image.jpg?id=63643161"]On the day of the RadioThon, the SPCA was integral in reuniting a stray cat with its owner who had moved to North Carolina. While the phones were ringing and the donations were coming in, the SPCA's Gina Lattuca was coordinating the air transport of the lost cat to its owner down south. Thanks to the work of the SPCA, 'Tommy' the cat is now at his new home down south with owner Francis.
Thanks to your help, the SPCA can continue to serve the people and animals of Erie County through this essential work and more.
THANK YOU to all who donated and you can still help make a difference and add to the tally by donating at YourSPCA.org.
The SPCA does not receive any funding from the county, city, state, or federal governments.
