Orchard Park, N.Y. (WBEN) - Now that there will officially be no more games at the old Highmark Stadium, we're learning more about how pieces of it will get in the hands of fans.
CollectibleXchange CEO Brandon Steiner, who's in charge of selling off memorabilia from the old stadium, told WBEN on Wednesday that he wasn't expecting one particular item to be so popular: The urinal troughs.
"There's a little weirdness to that," Steiner said." But there's a connectivity there. You're in a bathroom, it's 10 degrees, and you're kind of sharing some warmth."
Steiner admitted that the troughs weren't on his radar when this process started, but Bills fans changed that in a big way.
"When I sit with the Bills tomorrow, one of the things I have to add to the list that wasn't on my original list as a focus at all, is to add that to the list of items we'll be removing," Steiner said.
"Tomorrow one of my jobs is to count the amount of troughs."
Once that hard work is done, Steiner said some of the one-off and bigger pieces, including the troughs, will be auctioned off sometime in April.
