Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Pizza places are gearing up for Halloween following the Buffalo Bills primetime game at home against the Green Bay Packers.

Given the recent success of the Bills, pizzerias have noted that Sunday game days have matched or superseded the usual busiest days of the year for pizza orders. However, Halloween is a holiday that still ranks high in traffic for our local pizza places and following a big game, our local favorite pizza places have to be stocked and prepped well in advance.

"It's a great day, everybody does take out, [Halloween] probably ranks right now probably first or second over the [Bills] season itself," says Paul Santora, proud owner of Santora's Pizza Pub and Grill.

"We make batches and batches a day internally anyways, but we've probably doubled our capacity as far as flour goes and everything else for this upcoming weekend. It's been something to get ready for, but we're ready." Santora told me on Friday, who was preparing for a Halloween party at the Transit location that they held that night.

Nick Argy, Owner of Macy's Place Pizzeria says he doesn't remember a time where there has been busy back-to-back pizza days of this caliber, "It's gonna be crazy because we got the crazy Bills game Sunday night on Halloween Eve, so we're gonna be busy for that and then we're gonna get going right away again Monday with Halloween. A lot of businesses ordered in the morning, followed by tons of families at night and it'll be a definitely a pretty hectic day open to close."

Argy says they've been doubling up all the dough and supplies in addition to deliver drivers.

In addition to the pizzas, Macy's Place does have something special they are doing for Halloween season: Little pizzas/calzones that are skull-shaped!

Note: A six-pack of skulls in available for $24.99, not $30!

Argy expects at least 700 pizzas will be coming out the door over on Halloween eve and Halloween at his location on Genesee Street, not including his newly-opened location in Kenmore.

If you wanna order pizza for Halloween night and want to beat the rush, most pizza places will orders well ahead of time if you call in advance. Ordering online is also a viable option to beat the rush.
