NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – A second suspect has been charged in the robbery that led to the friendly fire killing of NYPD Det. Brian Simonsen.

Jagger Freeman, a 25 year old from Queens, was charged with murder, robbery, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Earlier Saturday, the second suspect was said to be at be at the 102nd Precinct stationhouse, where a memorial for Simonsen was growing Saturday, with dozens of candles and bouquets of flowers lining the sidewalk.

The second suspect is believed to be the lookout for Christopher Ransom, who is the main suspect in the case and now under arrest for murder and other charges in the Richmond Hill robbery.

Police say 42 shots were fired at 27-year-old Ransom Tuesday night as he charged at officers with what was later determined to be a fake handgun during the robbery at a T-Mobile store.

One of the shots struck Simonsen in the chest, killing him. His partner, Sgt. Matthew Gorman, was shot in the leg and survived.
