NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — In this week's Sweet Spot, Mike Sugerman visits Water4Dogs which has the only canine water therapy pool in New York City, specializing in hydrotherapy for dogs with ailments and post surgical issues.
"Water therapy is just a great modality to provide strengthening to the bones, muscles and joints without the impact," said therapist Jean Marie Cooper said.
One dog, named Scout, came before his first ACL surgery and now he's going to have a second.
"We came here at the doctor's recommendation not really knowing what to expect and it turned out to make a huge difference," Scout's owner Karen Hershey said.
The cost is a little less than $200 a session, but can be covered by dog insurance.
