TRENTON (WCBS 880) — The Garden State Parkway in New Jersey topped a list of most dangerous highways in the state.

A new analysis by NJ Advanced Media found the Garden State Parkway had the most crashes in 2018 with 10,363.

Second place went to the New Jersey Turnpike, which saw nearly 7,777 crashes, which sounds small compared to the 230 million vehicles that utilized the highway last year.

Route 1 came in third place, with a two mile stretch in West Windsor registering the highest number of crashes.

In 2017, the media company conducted a study of deadliest highways in the state. It found the Garden State was the most dangerous in 2016, with a total of 32 deaths on the roadway.

The turnpike was also second place on that list with 21 fatal crashes throughout 2016.
