OLD BETHPAGE, N.Y. (WCBS 880) -- The search is on for a gunman who fatally shot a 22-year-old man on Long Island over the weekend.
Stefon Pierre, of Queens, was shot in the stomach while sitting in his car in Haypath Road Park in Old Bethpage around 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
Pierre was one of five children.
His younger brother, Isaiah, said he was supposed to go to a family cookout the night he was killed.
"He was home; he was supposed to be home. Then it seemed like he got a phone call, and then he left and I don't know who he was with. I don't know what they were doing. But, honestly, it seems like he got brought down with whoever else he was with," his brother said.
Pierre had hopes of becoming a real estate agent or opening up his own business. He was planning to go to business school in the fall.
"It's hard for all of us, and we're all just trying to wrap our heads around it," his friend said. "He always giggled. His laugh was unique, he was a unique person. There's no replacing Stefon."
No arrests have been made.
