Suffolk County Readies Plan To Opt Out Of Legalized Marijuana Sales

NEW YORK (WCBS 880)--  Suffolk County will follow Nassau County in taking a stand against the sale of legal marijuana.Should legal cannabis get the OK in Albany, Suffolk Executive Steve Bellone will propose legislation to opt-out of sales.The proposal has a one-year sunset clause, allowing sales of pot unless the county legislature passes a permanent ban.This week, Nassau County Executive Laura Curran outlined a plan to opt-out in her state of the county address.
