NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – A lightning strike near the Statue of Liberty was captured on video Wednesday evening.
Twitter user Mikey Cee posted footage of the lightning strike, calling it, “The best video I ever captured.”

Moments before posting video of the lightning strike, he posted video of high winds near Ellis Island.
Gary Hershorn also tweeted a photo showing a lightning strike on the Hudson River Wednesday evening.
The lightning strikes came amid severe weather in New York City on Wednesday, with the National Weather Service issuing a Thunderstorm Warning for the boroughs.
