“Additionally, if you’re not seated at your table while eating or drinking, you’ll continue to be required to wear a mask,” Murphy said.

The outdoor gathering limit will increase to a maximum of 500 people in New Jersey, while outdoor capacity for large venues with a fixed seating capacity of 1,000 or more will increase to 50% capacity.
In the five boroughs, restaurants can now use 75% of their indoor space.
Capacity is also going up to 75% at barber shops, hair and nail salons and other personal care services the city.
At Junior’s in Times Square, owner Alan Rosen said Mother’s Day will be a busy day for the restaurant, which began dishing out its world-famous cheesecake on Thursday after a 14-month shutdown.
“We’re looking forward to getting started. We did a little soft opening on Monday. And it’s going to be slow-going at the beginning, we understand, but we’re looking forward to welcoming back New Yorkers and anyone else who comes to visit New York,” Rosen said.
A return to full indoor dining in New Jersey and New York is set for Monday, May 17. Capacity restrictions at Connecticut restaurants were lifted in March.
