NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — New Yorkers can get their shot this weekend at one of New York City's most iconic buildings.
A vaccine clinic will operate Friday through Sunday at the Empire State Building.
The first 100 people get a free ticket to its famed observatories on the 86th and 102nd floors.
The clinic is open 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
"Our creative vaccine site locations and incentive programs have succeeded in getting more New Yorkers to come in and roll up their sleeve, and we are continuing this creative approach," Gov. Andrew Cuomo said. "Every shot in the arm brings us one step closer to defeating COVID, and if you still need to get vaccinated I encourage you to do that as quickly as possible so we can continue to make progress against this virus and defeat it once and for all."
The observatory is also hosting a special sunrise event this Sunday to those who provide proof of vaccination using the Excelsior Pass.
Mask-optional hours will also be available for Excelsior Pass users this month.
The mask-less hours will run on Thursday from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m., as well as Friday and Saturday nights from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. from June 10 through June 26.
"The Empire State Building is one of the Empire State's most iconic symbols, and these special events will help New Yorkers safely return to the activities and attractions they have missed and provide yet another reason to get vaccinated," Cuomo said.
