Gio’s thoughts on the Giants playing the Vikings in the playoffs hasn’t changed since the matchup became official: he still believes Big Blue is going to beat his beloved Minnesota squad.
Boomer suspects foul play, believing that Gio is trying to touch the money in reverse. But Gio is adamant that there is no hijinks involved. He says the Vikings are set up to lose.
“The ultimate example of egg on my face happens this weekend, because Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley, who I said to get rid of all offseason…have come back, and each of them have most likely earned a contract extension from the Giants,” Gio said.
“Those guys will go into that building and beat my team, because that’s the way it will work. To ruin my life.”
So no, there is no reverse jinx in place, at least that’s what Gio claims.
“It’s what I believe. I’m not doing reverse psychology,” Gio said. “This is the only way the story can end, and that’s what I believe. It is my destiny. If I believed they were gonna win, I would have told you three weeks ago that they were going to win.”
