As questions about Aaron Rodgers playing this season continued to swirl, BT wanted to know if there were any adults in the room to do what’s best for the future of the Jets.
“I don’t know who is thinking straight in the building,” BT said. “I would like to know, who has the Jets’ best interests in mind? Aaron Rodgers wants to play for selfish reasons. The Jets selfishly want him to play so they can change the narrative that everybody should be fired. Can somebody point out the grown-ups and the responsible, levelheaded thinkers in the Jets building? Because right now, it seems like everyone is trying to save ass…who is thinking clearly with the Jets?”
However, if BT put himself in the shoes of Robert Saleh or Joe Douglas, he could understand why playing Rodgers would be an attractive option, as an opportunity to potentially show some life on offense and gain back some belief from ownership and the fanbase. Still, he doesn’t think that is what’s best for the franchise.
“This is where it gets complicated,” BT said. “If I’m Woody Johnson, no. If I’m Robert Saleh and Joe Douglas, yes…if he plays and he plays well and puts up two touchdowns and they beat the Commanders, they save a little face, and everyone that’s on the hot seat - the head coach and the general manger, they need to change the way they are perceived…I understand why they would want him to play. But Woody Johnson needs to intervene. Somebody’s got to think clearly for the future.
“It’s a disastrous recipe. Self-preservation is dangerous, and they are in the process of doing that.”
