The Jets continue to add at the wide receiver position, reportedly signing Keelan Cole to a one-year deal.
The deal for the former Jaguars wideout is for $5.5 million, per Adam Schefter.
The Jets found themselves with over $36 million in cap space after making the Carl Lawson signing official. With Cole’s contract, they will still have roughly $31 million left to spend.
Cole, who turns 28 next month, hauled in 55 catches for 642 yards and five touchdowns last season for the lowly Jaguars. He was signed by Jacksonville as an undrafted free agent in 2017 but made an immediate impact, appearing in all 16 games as a rookie and compiling 748 receiving yards, which is still his career high. His five touchdowns last season are a career-high, as were his 88 targets.
Cole joins a receiving core that now includes Corey Davis, who was signed earlier this week, while the Jets are also reportedly in talks with JuJu Smith-Schuster.
