Joe Benigno has long praised Robert Saleh the man, while criticizing Saleh the coach, worried that the combination of the two would make it hard to motivate on the football field.
That came into question once again on Thursday night, when Saleh was asked about his lack of emotion and expression on the sidelines during a 37-20 loss to the Browns. Joe couldn’t agree more that there needs to be more fire from the head coach.
“‘What do you want me to do, throw the podium?’ Yeah!” Joe said. “Let me see a little life, coach! Let me see you get in somebody’s face on the sideline? How about Mekhi Becton, who has another ridiculous false start as Myles Garrett is wiping him up? How about getting in the face of D.J. Reed as he’s getting torched again?
“Coach, you’re a great guy, and that’s your biggest problem.”
