Julius Randle sat down for an extensive interview on the new Podcast P with Paul George, and talked about his love for New York, and the love he gets back from the fans when he is out in the city, despite how he feels the media sometimes portrays his legacy in the Big Apple.
Craig says it was a bunch of smoke and mirrors.
"Julius Randle is afraid he's getting traded," Craig said. "He went on to say that he loves it here, that the people of New York are so kind to him and gracious…and he loves New York City and the people adore him, and on and on, and I'm vomiting in my mouth because it's a bunch of crap.
"Here's the reality. He's talking like a man who knows he is being traded and doesn't want to be. And the only guy you are trading him for is Zion Williamson…and he doesn't want o go to New Orleans. So all of a sudden, the guy with zero personality - publicly at least - he's so upset at the possibility of being traded to NBA No-Man's Land, that he's now kissing our asses and talking about how great it is to be in New York, because he doesn't want to go to New Orleans. Bye!"
Evan found the interview to be refreshing, noting that Randle brought up his infamous thumbs down gesture on his own, and showed an awareness that he hadn't before when speaking to the media. But Craig still wasn't buying any of it.
"He doesn't get it with us," Craig said. "He gets it when he's in the confines of being surrounded by guys he's tight with. He's never gotten it with us as a Knick."
