Boomer wants Mets to move in right field wall at Citi Field

Citi Field is currently 330 feet down the right field line, and 375 out to right center.

Boomer says those numbers need to come down so the Mets can stop getting robbed on deep flyouts.

"How many times have the Mets hit the ball in that part of the park where it just goes and dies for an out, as opposed to opposing teams that come in here?" Boomer said. "It's gotta be 80/20 in terms of percentages.

"I feel like if they did something about that, it would behoove the Mets to do that."

New York has actually done that before, bringing in the fences before the 2015 season for a second time since the park opened in 2009. The deepest part of the park in right center was 415 feet when the stadium opened, then brought in to 390 feet, and now tops off at 380 feet. But Boomer says the home team should do it again.

"I bet if one of those analytic geeks over there at Citi Field are listening…do a study on how many balls are hit to that point of Citi Field, and how many of those balls are hit by Mets, and how many more are hit by opposing teams that come in here," Boomer said.
