Evan and Tiki discussed the reports of clubhouse discourse plaguing the 2023 Mets, and were on opposite sides in terms of how much it impacted one of the most disappointing seasons in franchise history.
"This is like the Housewives of Baseball. They lost because they were bad," Evan said. "We're at the point now where we're looking for reasons why the Mets sucked. We don't need new reasons.
"I'm not denying there wasn't the same camaraderie in the pitching staff that there was a year ago…I'm not sure if Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso don't like each other. But it doesn't matter."
Tiki, on the other hand, believes it did play a part in the team crumbling and becoming sellers at the trade deadline.
"Inorganic construction of the team, but they're all alphas," Tiki said. "Scherzer: alpha. Verlander: alpha. Lindor: alpha. Pete Alonso: alpha."
What they could both agree on is the opinion that, if the reports are accurate and clubhouse is fractured, Buck Showlater needs to take the blame.
"If you believe there's an issue in the locker room, then the manager should be gone," Evan said. "Let's just start with that."
