Mets fans dig up Phillies analyst bunting to break up perfect game after Francisco Lindor criticism

The Phillies TV announcers didn't like how Francisco Lindor casually flicked a throw over to first after the Mets had Kody Clemens dead to rights on a line drive double play in Wednesday's game.

Color commentator Ben Davis said he didn't like the throw from the Mets shortstop, adding that Lindor should "be a little bit more professional about it," and that his throw that bounced several times to Pete Alonso at first base was like throwing "salt in the wound."

It didn't take long for Mets fans to call out Davis for an infamous move he pulled off during his playing days, when he dropped down and abrupt bunt in the eighth inning to break up Curt Schilling's perfect game bid.

Schilling was dominating on the mound for the Diamondbacks back in 2001 before Davis tried the impromptu drag bunt that was popped in the air just past the pitcher's mound on the right side of the infield, resulting in a weak infield single that brought the tying run to the plate.

Many didn't like the move then, as Arizona manager Bob Brenly called it a "chicken" play, and video of the play quickly resurfaced after Davis called out Lindor.
