Rangers finish off perfect road trip with furious rally in third period to stun Sens

The Rangers looked to be stumbling towards a lackluster finish to what had been a promising road trip, trailing the Senators 2-0 late in the third period on Saturday afternoon.

One furious rally later, fueled by Chris Kreider, and New York is heading home with a perfect 4-0-0 record on its road swing.

The Rangers, now winners of four in a row and 4-1-1 on the season, did all of their scoring in a span of 3:20, sparked by Kreider, who gave the Blueshirts some much-needed good fortune on the power play when he tapped in a pass from Artemi Panarin with just over five minutes to go in the third.

Ryan Lindgren tied it just over a minute later off a feed from Adam Fox during 4-on-4 action, and less than two minutes later, with just 2:03 left in the third, Barclay Goodrow tipped in a blast from Sammy Blais to give the Rangers an improbable lead.

Ottawa seemed to be in control from the opening seconds of the game, scoring just 41 seconds into the first period and keeping New York off the board until the Rangers erupted late in the third to complete a best-case scenario road trip.

The Rangers, who end their road trip in first place in the Metropolitan Division, will take a happy flight home before hosting Calgary on Monday night.
