All is not well in Yankees Universe right now, as the team awaits results on an MRI of Gerrit Cole’s elbow, and Aaron Judge sits with soreness after MRI results on his abs came back clean.
Suddenly, a season with all kinds of anticipation feels like it is in peril, and it is an all-too familiar feeling for Keith.
“Everybody on the hype train, and everybody off! It’s happening again!” Keith said. “I tell you not to believe the hype. That hype is a drug that you’re gonna come crashing down from…nothing can save you from that. It’s just a painful drop. All the hopes you had, dashed.”
The 2024 season was supposed to be one of revenge after last year’s disaster, and while it still can be, it feels like the year is already teetering on disaster again with Opening Day still weeks away.
“Two $300 million men who have hardware…without those guys, you can wrap it up,” Keith said. “You can forget about the season. Maybe you needed some of that reality check instead of ‘Juan Soto!’”
