The Yankees reportedly signed Marcus Stroman Thursday night, and Stroman posting a picture of himself in Yankee pinstripes seemed to confirm that.
Keith was live on air when the news broke, and voiced his support for the move, so long as it is followed up with another rotation acquisition.
Fortunately, Keith believes one is on the way.
“I do think the Yankees make another move, whether it’s to continue to up the contract price for Blake Snell, whether it’s to make a trade and keep negotiating with the Brewers for Corbin Burnes if they’re doing that,” Keith said. “Or Shane Bieber with the Guardians if they’re even doing that.”
Keith doesn’t believe there is real smoke to a potential Dylan Cease trade, as reports indicate that the White Sox are asking for a sky high return package. But there are still other options out there that would cost less, and Keith is confident the Yanks will pounce on one of them to complete a very strong offseason following the franchise’s worst season in over three decades.
“Don’t feel like they’re done,” Keith said. “It’s Jan. 11. The Yankees aren’t done. There is still more than a month until spring training.”
