The 25th annual Selby Avenue Jazzfest is expected to draw 10,000 people to St. Paul on Saturday.
Live jazz and more than 100 vendors will fill the intersection of Selby Avenue and Milton Street.
The festival is known for bringing in world class musicians, and spokesman Ernest Bisong with the Walker West Music Academy tells Vineeta Sawkar on the WCCO Morning News its nice to see younger generations getting into jazz.
"You know, jazz has evolved over the years and at Walker West we capture all of the different aspects to the music and all of the different subgenres that really capture the style," Bisong explains. "And that's why we're able to get young people to connect with the music."
Bisong they couldn't do it without support from their neighbors in the area either.
"That's the reason why this has grown so big and strong, and even with the transition over to Walker West, it's the same things that we're seeing," he explains. "Communities constantly reaching out to ask how they can support the work that we do, and we're just so appreciative of that."
The music kicks off at 11:00 a.m. and wraps up later Saturday night with a jam session. You can see the entire musical lineup here.

What: The Selby Ave JazzFest brings global rhythm directly to our community, bridging the gap between "just down the block" talent and international icons.
Where: The center of the festival takes place at the intersection of Selby Avenue and Milton Street in St. Paul's historic Rondo neighborhood.
When: Saturday, September 12 — the main festival day: brass band parade kickoff, full music lineup, Village Marketplace, food, and the Family Fun Zone. Sunday, September 13 — the free Stokley Masterclass at Harmony Hall, Walker|West.
Cost: The Selby Ave JazzFest is a free event and open to the public.
