Long-time Democratic incumbent for Minnesota Congressional District 4, Betty McCollum, has won another term in her seat, taking down Republican challenger May Lor Xiong.
This marks the 12th victory for McCollum, who took over for Bruce Vento after his death in 2000. Since 2001, the seat has been McCollum’s.
McCollum’s predecessor, Vento, also held the seat for more than two decades as they are the only two Minnesotans elected to the office since 1977.
McCollum will now look to serve yet another two years in Washington.
