A 29-year-old man is dead after a horrific high-speed crash caught on MinDOT cameras Monday night in Fridley.

State Patrol says Alex Tuerk of Spooner, Wisconsin was killed when his car slammed into a traffic signal pole at the intersection of Highway 65 and Medronic Parkway around 11:00 p.m.

The car was cut in half by the impact.

Tuerk was taken to North Memorial where he later died.

Another vehicle, driven by 25 year old Abdirahman Liban of Minneapolis was hit by the back half of Turek's car.

Liban had stopped and was waiting at the intersection for the light to change.

He was taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.
