The Minnesota Republican Party is announcing that former President Donald Trump will be coming to Minnesota in May. Trump will headline their annual Lincoln Reagan Dinner on May 17.

There's a VIP reception at 5:00 p.m. and dinner begins at 6:00 p.m.

"We are honored to have President Donald J. Trump coming to Minnesota to keynote our annual Lincoln Reagan Dinner this spring," says Minnesota Republican Party Chairman David Hann in an email sent out Monday. "We hope you are able to join us to welcome President Trump and support the Republican Party as we gear up to defeat the Democrats in November's elections and advance our principles to make Minnesota a better place to live, work, and raise a family."

Tickets for the event in St. Paul start at $500 just for dinner. There is also a single person VIP ticket for $2,500. 10-person tables start at $15,000 and go for as much as $100,000. Some of the table options come with a chance to meet and get photos with the former president.

Joining Trump and Hann at the dinner is Minnesota 6th District Congressman and House Majority Whip Tom Emmer. He is also the campaign chair for Trump in Minnesota.

The location has not been announced. Those details will be released to attendees after registration.

Meanwhile, a new poll shows the race between former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden couldn't be any closer.

According to a USA TODAY/Suffolk University Poll released Monday, six months before Election Day, Trump and Biden are tied 37% to 37%.

While 75% of voters say their mind is firmly made up, 1 in 4 voters (24%) say it's possible they could change their mind before the election and another 12% say they haven't made a choice yet.

The Trump campaign is in the middle of a massive fundraising push and told donors at a private GOP retreat in Palm Beach, Florida, that $76 million was raised in April between the campaign and the Republican National Committee. That is according to two sources who were present for the briefing, says CBS News.

The Biden campaign raised over $90 million in March.

Trump has suggested that he will make Minnesota a battleground state in the upcoming Election. Minnesota has not voted for a Republican for President since Richard Nixon in 1972. Biden won Minnesota by about 7 percentage points in 2020. The latest state polling suggests Minnesota is closer to 2016, when Hillary Clinton narrowly defeated Trump.
