If you're planning to attend any of the major sporting events or concerts in downtown Minneapolis this weekend, you might want to reserve your parking spot in one of the city's ramps.
"It is s a good idea because it does guarantee you a space in one of these facilities in case they fill up," says Tim Drew who is parking systems manager for the City of Minneapolis.
First, it's a gigantic sports weekend in the Twin Cities.
There are watch parties both Saturday and Sunday at Target Field for the Minnesota Twins games in Houston for the ALDS. Saturday, the Gophers host Michigan at Huntington Bank Stadium on the U of M campus. And Sunday the Minnesota Vikings host Kansas City at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Second, there's the other possibility to be aware of: Taylor Swift might show up. There is definitely a "Swifty effect", as her flocks of fans have swooped into other football cities recently after Swift showed up to watch her Kansas City Chiefs boyfriend.
"But I'm sure U.S. Bank Stadium will be making arrangements for that to happen, and I'm sure they'll be able to get her in and out of that facililty safey," says Drew.
Drew adds that they expect there will be enough parking for all of the events, but encourages anyone coming downtown to take Metro Transit or a rideshare service to avoid any surprises.
