Artists, musicians and food vendors are preparing for the 28th Annual Stone Arch Bridge Festival happening along the Mississippi River.

Local Artist Jorie Kosel has been creating a sustainable woven art exhibition this week for the festivities, right behind Mill City Museum.

"The piece is called Reflecting the River, this part is a rendering of the Mississippi," explains Kosel about one of her pieces. "And we're incorporating some pieces of artwork made by students who visited the museum in the last few months."

Kosel says she encouraging visitors this weekend to add to the art installation.

"More hands on for this project," she explained. "Weaving is super intuitive and I'm excited to kind of fill in the remaining holes with the people who come to the festival this weekend."

The core of the festival is the 200+ artists with categories including photography, painting, jewelry, sculpture, woodworking, ceramics, printmaking, glass and fine crafts. There is also a Culinary Arts Market under the Hennepin Ave. Bridge, the Black Market located on West River Parkway across from Mill City Museum, and a Vintage and Vinyl Market located on West River Parkway across from the Guthrie

The festival is Saturday and Sunday near the riverfront area on West River Parkway in Minneapolis beginning at 10:00 a.m. each day. You can get more information here.
