Monday night's Minnesota Twins game against the Chicago White Sox began with a moment of silence, hours after a shooter opened fire killing six people and injuring dozens of others during a Fourth of July parade.
Minnesota Twins radio play-by-play broadcaster and Highland Park native, Cory Provus, reflected on the tragedy during the Twins pregame show on WCCO Radio.
"Very sad day," Provus said. "Downtown Highland Park is where I spent many, many days when I was young growing up. That horrific scene which was centered around Central Avenue and Second Street. My first job when I was in high school was literally a few feet away."
Police announced on Monday night that they apprehended a person of interest after identifying 22-year-old Robert "Bobby" E. Crimo III as a suspect.
Crimo fled a traffic stop but was later stopped and arrested without incident.
