Starting tonight through the end of October, Warehouse District Live returns to Downtown Minneapolis.
Following last year's successful run, the event, which takes place on First Avenue, is a great way for people to experience downtown nightlife.
President and CEO of the Minneapolis Downtown Council, Adam Duininck
"What it does is it helps to calm the area right outside a bunch of bars and restaurants and clubs," says Duininck. "It also gives people something to do if they're leaving a concert at Target Center, or a baseball game at Target Field."
Better planning this year should lead to better activities.
"From pickleball to karaoke to basketball, hoops, different things for people to do as well as a presence that I think will be uplifting and high energy each night," Duininck explains.
Minneapolis Police will have extra staffing around the area as well.
The event was supposed to begin Memorial Day weekend, but out of respect for the family of Officer Jamal Mitchell and the families of all the victims in the May 30 shooting in south Minneapolis, they canceled the initial event.
