Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550) - One day after being loaded onto a stretcher and taken off the Highmark Stadium turf in an ambulance, tests came back negative for Buffalo Bills safety Taylor Rapp.
In fact, the 25-year-old even has a chance to play in Buffalo’s next game in six days against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to head coach Sean McDermott.
In his weekly Monday Zoom call with the local media, McDermott gave updates and several players were injured in Sunday’s 32-6 victory over the New York Jets.
Rapp was officially diagnosed with a neck injury, but, again, may be able to return this coming Sunday in Philadelphia.
Meanwhile, cornerbacks Dane Jackson and Taron Johnson are both in the league’s concussion protocol.
Safety Micah Hyde is day-to-day with a neck/stinger. McDermott says it is not a new injury from the one he was dealing with last week, but rather those types of injuries tend to flare up.
Defensive back and special teamer Cam Lewis is also day-to-day as he deals with a shoulder injury.
McDermott added that even though tight end Dawson Knox is eligible to return to practice this week, that may not happen yet.
"It doesn't appear, at this point, he's ready to do so," McDermott said about Knox.
The tight end is currently on Injured Reserve, and has missed the last four games after having wrist surgery.
