What’s going on with Patriots’ potential visit to White House?

The Red Sox visited the White House on Thursday to be honored by president Donald Trump for their World Series win, but what about the Super Bowl champion Patriots?

Typically, their visits have occurred in the spring just after the draft, but that obviously wasn’t the case this year.

So, what’s going on?

According to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe, the Patriots and the White House have been trading dates throughout April and May, but there’s been a conflict for the other side each time. The two sides are still working on a date and a visit could still happen between now and mid-June.

After that it seems unlikely to happen, as that is a time for players and coaches to get away one last time before training camp, and once training camp begins Bill Belichick likely wouldn’t use a day to take a trip down to Washington D.C.

After beating the Falcons in Super Bowl LI, the Patriots visited the White House on April 19.
