That didn't take long.

Just a few days after being released by the team, the Patriots have re-signed wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. In the corresponding move, rookie wide out N'Keal Harry has been placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury.

The rookie has been injured for most of the summer with his only action coming in the first preseason game against the Lions. Harry is eligble to begin practicing in six weeks and can return after eight weeks.

Thomas, who is coming off an Achilles injury in December, was very impressive in the final preseason game last Thursday when he caught seven passes for 87 yards and two touchdowns.

The Patriots likely will go into Week 1 with a wide receivers depth chart of Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon, Thomas, Phillip Dorsett, Jakobi Meyers and Gunner Olszewski.
