Who says no to this Myles Turner to Celtics trade?

There are some who believe the Celtics will be just fine if they stand pat heading into the 2020-21 season. But there are some moves Danny Ainge can make that might help the C's take the next step.

Let's look at one of them:

Marcus Smart, Vincent Poirier, No. 26th overall pick in 2020 and the 47th overall pick in 2020 to the Pacers for Myles Turner.

Who says no?

From the Celtics' perspective it makes all kind of sense, with Turner representing the kind of inside presence that would nicely complement the likes of Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Gordon Hayward and Kemba Walker.

The 24-year-old, 6-foot-11 center has been consistent throughout a five-year NBA career, averaging 12.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Turner will be eligible or free agency after the 2022-23 season.

Smart obviously is the tough part of the equation for the Celtics to part with, offering the kind of defensive presences and intangibles that often times makes him one of the most valuable members of the roster. He can become a free agent after the 2021-22 campaign.
