Bill Belichick always likes to keep things close to the vest, which goes in line with the Patriots not having an official defensive coordinator since Matt Patricia left and then not saying publicly who calls the defensive plays.

By now it's basically common knowledge, but for the first time publicly, the Patriots coach acknowledged Steve Belichick calls the defensive signals following the 20-17 win over the Cardinals.

"Steve made a couple good calls that put us in the right defense against a couple of those, as well," Belichick said after the game when asked about containing Kyler Murray. "That was good, too."

It's not a big deal by any means, it's just interesting that Belichick said that about his son for the first time.

The Patriots defense, with Steve leading the way, held the Cardinals to their lowest point total of the season.
