One thing that wasn't known when the NFL schedule was released last week was who teams would play in the preseason, which will only be three games this summer with the regular season being expanded to 17 games.

For the Patriots, they will host the Washington Football team, then travel to Philadelphia and then New York to close out the preseason against the Giants.

With the NFL trending towards allowing joint practices this summer, something Bill Belichick has loved over the years, what might things look like this August for New England?

ESPN's Mike Reiss threw out the possibility of the team having joint sessions with the Eagles and Giants, but having the ones with the Giants be at Gillette Stadium, even though the game will be in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

It's unclear exactly why, but it could be because of space limitations at the Giants facility, or maybe team officials pushed for it to allow for Patriots fans to get to see at least one joint session. Gillette Stadium and MetLife Stadium are only a three-hour drive/hour flight away, so travel logistics really aren't an issue, especially with the game being on a Sunday.

These joint sessions would be great for the Patriots, especially when it comes to maximizing the reps the quarterbacks get and being able to control situations.

It would appear more normalsy is coming to the NFL this summer.
