The rich keefe show: Patriots release Alex Van Pelt video on social media
No— not that Mike McCarthy.
For those keeping track at home, the Patriots are reportedly making another addition to their offensive coaching staff. One that does not involve the Dallas Cowboys’ head coach.
According to John Brice of FootballScoop.com, New England is hiring Brown offensive line coach Mike McCarthy as an offensive assistant.
McCarthy has coached at North Carolina Central Univerity (2014), the Browns (2015), the Lions (‘16-‘17), and Rutgers (‘18-‘19). He’s been with Brown for the last five seasons.
He joins the following new-look staff in New England:
-- Alex Van Pelt, offensive coordinator
-- Ben McAdoo, senior offensive assistant
-- T.C. McCartney, quarterbacks
-- Scott Peters, offensive line
-- Robert Kugler, offensive line
-- Tiquan Underwood, assistant wide receivers
-- Taylor Embree, running backs
The Patriots still need to hire a tight ends coach and wide receivers coach.
